I know Valentine’s Day is a few weeks away but let’s get ready together! I was also watching a YouTube video of Ashley (@spoonfullofcleaning) and she talked about giving her kids their Valentines baskets the first of the month so they could play with and snack on the goodies heading up to the holiday. As she said “giving the gifts on the actual holiday is like getting a Christmas tree Christmas Day.” And that resinated with me so, kiddo’s going to get some of the goodies early.
As you know I’m not great at “gift guides” but I can tell you what my kiddo is getting and maybe it’ll give you an idea 🥰
When I was growing up my dad always got my sister and I chocolate for Valentine’s Day. And when I say growing up I mean, my first valentine still comes through 32 years later. So, while we don’t do a big to do over Valentine’s Day, we do get a little something for our handsome guy. Here’s what’s in his V-day bundle (and some other suggestions too!).
Books!
Little dude loooooooooooves loves LOVES books. And while I do try to keep the toys etc. down to a minimum (try being the key word there), I am a firm believer that one cannot have too many books. I do always read them through before buying, because some are kinda dumb tbh. Here’s my favs:
Little Blue Truck’s Valentine– Kiddo’s favorite by far. We have slowly been collecting the Little Blue Truck books and this one is no acceptation. We picked this one up for him last year and have busted it out already this year. I have already read it 13,257,809,473,290 times.
Smooch– This one is new this year and I thought it was so cute. It talks about how you can feel the love of a kiss even after you’ve taken a bath, gone to school etc.
Hug Time– I have no clue where we got this book. Maybe it was a hand-me-down or maybe we got it in the newborn blur but it’s pretty cute.
Mickey Shirt
I saw this shirt at Target and it came home with me immediately. I love outfits for the holidays. I love them even more when you can wear them year round. Mickey Mouse and a red heart can still be worn come cooler summer nights!
Rubber Ducks
Another Target steal! I found these bad boys in the Target dollar spot. My kid is obsessed with rubber ducks and we had to grab these. I might keep a couple back for Easter but we’ll see.
Imagine Ink Activity Books
I saw these in the target dollar spot and since my dude has just recently learned to color I thought he’d really like these. I picked up the Mickey Mouse and the Bluey books, and I’ll probably end up giving him only one and holding another one back for a rainy day.
PB&J Characters
Ok, ok, ok. Maybe this was more for me. But he did just start eating PB&J sandwiches and I had to get them for his shelf. There are so many other options of these little critters like bacon & eggs and 2 halves of the avocados.
Heart Shaped Veggie Chips
We’ll probably be making some sort of baked treat (my kid likes to pretend to cook a lot) but I wanted to give him something he could open right away and munch down. Veggiestraws are one of kiddo’s fav snacks and when I saw these Valentine’s Day themed ones I scooped them right up.
Baking Supplies
I love when you can find a fun activity you and your kiddo can do together! Now my son isn’t really at the truly helping me in the kitchen stage yet but he sure does love being in on the action. We’re learning! I snagged these sprinkles and cake mix and we’re going to get baking!
That’s all folks! Do you do Valentine’s Day gifts? What are you getting your kiddos?
Let me know!
