Mother’s Day is less than a month away (eeeee)! It’s my first Mother’s Day and so I am very excited to celebrate with my cutie son and hubs. I am very lucky in that Brandon is an excellent gift giver- so much so that I kinda hate him for it because my gifts always pale in comparison. So, I have enlisted his help on this guide so that other’s out there might get some ideas. Mamas- feel free to send this to your partners or treat yo self!! 😉
Relaxing vibes
Bath bombs & scrubs– A lovely bath is always welcome in my house. Make sure you take the kiddos while mama is soaking! This is sort of a double whammy because not only does she get to pamper herself you gets some quiet time. Lush is definitely my favorite bath products and I’ve got some hacks for getting the most bang for your buck! But if you want to go the bargain route this is my favorite scrub and they have so many amazing scents!
Stars Above PJs– The best pjs I have ever put on my body. I even wore these the morning of my wedding and got them for all my bridesmaids. They were in my hospital bag when I gave birth. Just take my word for it.
Crocs– If you ain’t Crocing you ain’t rocking. Thirteen year old me is making fun of 31 year old me but here we are. What can I say, they are comfortable and easy to clean. I also have the fleece lined version that are absolutely amazing in the winters. Seriously, these things are like walking on a cloud! And the gen-z peeps are wearing so that makes them cool right?
Mama Sweatshirt– My husband got this for me for Christmas and I love it. I sized up to have an oversized look which is so comfy. The inside is cozy and the stitching is so well done and cute. If this one is not your style there are tons of other choices on Etsy.
Jewelry
Boy Mom Bracelet– Another Christmas gift (lol can you tell I am very excited to be a mom). These stacking bracelets are so in right now and I am here for it- they remind me of those 90’s power bead bracelets (remember those??). You can customize them to match your style or the your babe’s name(s).
Kate Spade Initial Necklace– This necklace is subtle, beautiful and classic. I used to wear it everyday and then the kiddo started to grab things and the days of wearing jewelry has paused buuuuuut when I can I wear it. I also love that they have 2 different sizes. Pick your pleasure!
Stackable Birthstone Rings– I bought this puppy for myself the day my son was born and wore it in place of my wedding ring while my fingers were still sausages. It’s so delicate and perfect as a stackable ring. I definitely intend to purchase another one whenever I have another kiddo.
Splurges
Wine Suitcase– This one should be on any “wine mom’s” list. If you love wine then this is for you. I have had more than one bag stopped and searched because I have packed a bottle on wine around clothing in my checked bag (and strong concern that those clothes might get ruined) never mind the not being able to purchase the wine I wanted because I had no way to bring it home. Don’t want to splurge here’s a budget option.
Peloton– I know you’re seeing that viral commercial but hear me out… I LOVE my Peloton and I definitely use it 3-4 times a week. It’s my me time which is a gift that keeps on giving. Now… presentation is key here. Learn from the mistakes of the commercial. Enter my referral code at checkout for $100 off! Code: 6YQYCS
Robot Vac/ Mop– It may not be sexy but I would f-ing LOVE this gift (Hint hint Brandon). Let’s be honest, it’s really the gift of one less thing that I have to do. Bonus is if it’s the kind that vacuums, mops and has self emptying capabilities. I’ve had this one in my “save for later” in my cart on Amazon for months.
Experiences
Spa Day– Who doesn’t love a spa day? This is my favorite spa local to San Diego!
Mom-cation– Want to go ham? This one is extravagant but gift the mama in your life a night stay in a hotel. Let her sleep in the bed alone, order room service and sit by the pool uninterrupted.
Family Photos– Such a great Mother’s Day idea. In the world where a lot of our photos are taken through our phones it can be so nice to have a professional camera take those high quality photos. This is also great because it gets mama IN the pictures instead of behind the scenes. How many moms have been personally victimized by the photos your partner takes of you? I know I can’t be the only one lol.
Cleaning Service– This is basically like a day off right? Someone comes in and cleans your home and you don’t lift a finger. My house cleaner is a godsend.
Classics
Flowers– Is it original? Noooo. Are you the only one? Nooo. Is it sexualllll?… ok that Backstreet Boys reference took a turn. Sometimes flowers can be absolutely beautiful and a wonderful gesture. Pro tip- don’t go to the grocery store and keep the flowers in the crappy plastic wrapping. If you’re going the grocery store route, put those puppies in a vase or wrap them in pretty brown paper.
Mugs– Let’s do this one with a twist! Real talk… I want one of these fancy glittery tumblers that are all over Etsy. You can personalize them, you can find all sorts of cool designs. I just love them.
Brunch– Ok… I’m not the kind of person who likes crowds. I really don’t like waiting in lines. So this probably wouldn’t be the thing for me- at least not on actual Mother’s Day- but I celebrate you if you can find a rocking brunch on Mother’s Day!
Homemade Gifts– I’m a sucker for handwritten card. And with kiddos, anything handmade is just perfect. My mom still has many of the cards and gifts my sister and I made and she still displays them!
Moms do so much and don’t always get the praise or acknowledgement that they deserve. No matter what you do for the holiday, make that mom in your life feel special.
