Ok, ya, it’s already March. But, I don’t know about you but I don’t know where the year has gone already. Well, ya I do…we’ve done a renovation and dealt with sickness bouncing between the 3 of us (thanks daycare!). So, here we are planning our year almost a quarter of the way through. Here’s what we’ve planned so far:
Bay Area
We’re visiting my parents and hometown for Easter! I have such found memories of the Easter carnival and egg hunt and I can’t wait to share it with my son. Plus we’ll get some relaxed days with my family and visit my sister at her work (which is a space museum because she’s super cool).
Knoxville, TN
My bookclub (One More Page Bookclub) is going to Knoxville, TN for our retreat! I’m really excited because 1) I’ve never been to Knoxville and 2) I’m finally meeting people that I’ve gotten to know virtually over the last year. It’s going to be so fun to have a girls weekend where we get to just hang out and read books. I cannot wait.
Cape Cod
Heading back to visit my Grandma again. This place is one of my favorite places on the planet and I love having 4 generations grabbing fish and chips and a frappe after a long day on the beach.
Los Angeles
Ok, so we go to LA all the time; it’s where my in-laws live. But this summer my husband’s family is having a reunion and we’re doing all the tourist stuff! The Getty, the Griffith observatory, maybe Disneyland and Universal Studios… you get it. There will be family coming from all over the world so if you see a large group of 40 something people all wearing a matching shirt running around LA… come find me and say hi!
Catalina Island
My husband and I are celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary so we booked a little childfree vacay. Neither of us have ever been to Catalina and it’s so close to where we live (about 1 hour drive than 1 hour ferry) it’s silly we haven’t been. I booked a swanky hotel and we plan on exploring, relaxing and eating for 4 days.
Detroit, MI
I’m heading to Detroit for a work conference and I am actually excited. If you didn’t know, my day job is in the Heat Treat industry (think metals: steel, iron, aluminum) so Detroit is sort of a “destination” for that. I’ve been before and have done a little exploring and quite honestly, the city is kind of fun. I’m definitely going to write a post about my time there so I can inspire you to visit! Don’t knock it till you try it!
New York City (maybe)
The hubs and I are toying with taking a visit to New York to see some shows, visit our old stomping grounds, and of course see his sister and our nieces. This is still a maybe but of course if we go, I’ll bring you along!
