Isn’t Trader Joe’s the best? Even when my husband and I were living in New York we would take the train or walk the extra 20 blocks just to shop there. But who knew they had so many amazing NON FOOD things?? I love these items because I’m always at TJ’s getting on thing or another and it’s so easy to through these in my cart and be on my way!
Here are my top 5 favs and flops!
FAVS
1. Candles // $3.99
Listen up. The candles at TJ’s are fire. Pun intended.
But really, these little guys pack a punch for only a few bucks. They’re throw is great and the smells are unique. While they almost always have candles in store, they rotate their scents quite often with the seasons. So, if you smell one in store you like, grab it before it’s too late!
2. Fruit & Vegetable Wash // $3.99
I love the veggie wash for washing basically any produce. In our never ending quest to make produce last longer, my husband and I started washing most of it when we got home to remove any bacteria or bugs waiting to destroy our fruits and veggies. We put things in the fridge in these containers to make it last even longer!
3. Enrich Moisturizing Face Lotion // $3.99
I was recently told by a dermotologist that the kind of moisturizer you use basically doesn’t matter. Find one that your skin likes! My skin likes this one. It’s got zinc broad spectrum sunscreen, great moisturizing formula, and is not greasy or irritating. It’s perfect for sensitive skin, as it’s fragrance-free and noncomedogenic.
4. Rose Toner Water // $3.99
I’ve been talking about this stuff for a while now, my friends are probably sick of it. In all honestly, I don’t think I use this for it’s intended purchase. I keep a bottle of this stuff in my purse or in my car and spritz it whenever I feel like my face needs a little refresh. It works on top of make-up or on your beautiful natural skin. Technically, this is toner water which is typically used during your regular morning or evening skin care routine, which I’m sure it works for as well!
5. Honey Mango Shaving Cream // $3.99
I ditched shaving cream YEARS ago, like, before high school years ago! It was always so drying and awful for my skin. Since then I had been relying on the moisturizing strips around my razor which seem to get thicker and thicker with every reiteration of the Gillette Venus. Then, one of my fav YouTubers started talking about this shaving cream and I picked it up next time I was at TJ’s and I was hooked! It’s not a super think cream, in fact sometimes I can’t even see it fully, but boy oh boy does it keep my legs moisturized!
FLOPS
1. Eye Cream // $5.99
I REALLY wanted to like this…like, really really wanted to. In my almost 30 year old age I have started to value the importance of a good under eye cream. That area on my face is getting dryer, darker and more fine lines. But this eye cream was not the answer. Quite frankly it didn’t help with any of those issues… back to Ulta I go!
2. Blueberry Scrub // $5.99
I have mixed feelings about this. I like the smell, I like the concept… but did it do ANYTHING for my face? No. I’d rather spend my money on a sugar scrub- or better yet DIY one. Is this a project in the making????
3. Toilet Paper // $3.99
In the beginning of COVID toilet paper was hard to find, so my husband picked up a small amount at TJs. It worked in a pinch but let me tell you, it is THIN and not the softest. I don’t know about you but I want better for my bum. Unless you are really desperate, skip this one!
What are your favorite non food surprises you’ve found at your grocery store??
